When my mom gave me "the talk" about sex she discussed it. Polygamy, which goes hand in hand with pedophilia, is seen as a morally real threat because a lot of rich men have girlfriends or go to hookers/strippers meanwhile they're married at the same time.
Bigamy is seen as a legitimate threat to the family and to children, especially if they're born out of wedlock due to cheating. I was honestly horrified to hear this when I was a teen because American or British parents don't seem to talk about this like that.
Like my mom told me to use protection within marriage unless I was actively trying to have a child because you don’t know if he has VD (cheating).
